The “Z Podwórka na Stadion o Puchar Tymbarku” tournament is the largest children's football tournament in Europe, organised by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) since 2000. More than 200,000 girls and boys from all over Poland take part every year.

PZPN chose Virium from software vendors across Poland and abroad as the tournament's technology partner from the regional finals upwards. The system runs the regional finals and the National Final – each with anywhere from a dozen to several dozen teams.

In the first year PZPN used the public version of Virium. In the second year the partnership moved up a level: we built a dedicated version of the system, which PZPN's internal teams easily integrated with their Keycloak-based authentication.

Almost every year we deliver a package of new features that follow the new requirements and challenges of Europe's biggest children's tournament.

Around the Sport

280 teams in a weekend, with no performance issues

We have worked with Around the Sport – one of the largest tournament networks in Europe – since 2024. Its Polish branch was struggling with the performance of the app it used before.

Up to 280 teams take part in its tournaments in a single weekend. Each team has a dozen or so players, and each player is often followed by more than two fans – thousands of people checking results at the same time.

After testing Virium we started a partnership that continues to this day. The organisers no longer face performance problems and can focus on giving young athletes, coaches and fans the best possible experience.

FAQ

Before you ask

Which competition formats does Virium support?

You build a competition from stages that you combine in any order, e.g. groups followed by a bracket with a 3rd-place match. There are 4 stage types:

TableThe classic: round robin, rounds and points.
GroupsSeveral parallel groups, with the best teams advancing.
Bracket / play-offKnockout format, with seeding.
FlexibleCreate any matches, name and group them, and give the groups your own names. Full freedom for unusual tournaments and leagues.
How do you decide who plays in the next stage?

You link stages and specify who advances, e.g. the top two teams from each group, or the two second-placed teams with the best records in the qualifying stage, go through to the quarter-finals. Before you know the participants, you can reserve a team slot for the whole competition or for a specific stage. You can also draw teams.

That's why Virium can handle even unconventional formats, such as those at Pro Turnieje tournaments.

Will you migrate data from my current system?

Yes. We migrate competitions, results, statistics and history. Two examples:

Biznes Liga KrakówCompetitions since 2011, one of the longest histories in Poland. The entire history moved to Virium without issues.
PL3 · Piłkarska Liga TrójmiastaData since 2012: competitions, results and statistics. After the migration, the all-time team and player rankings matched place for place, which fans and players checked very closely.
What if thousands of fans visit at once during a tournament?

Virium handles 280-team weekends at Around the Sport and the finals of a tournament played by over 200,000 children every year.

Are the website and app available in other languages?

Yes. Virium is multilingual, so you can also serve teams from abroad.

Do I need my own website?

No. A standard website comes with the system. If you want, we'll design a website under your brand.
